Tamar Ashdot joined the CAE team in January 2019 as a Programs Assistant. Before joining CAE, Tamar earned her BA in English Literature/Creative Writing and Jewish History at SUNY Binghamton University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was her college’s student commencement speaker. During her college career, Tamar interned at AFS-USA and Entertainment Weekly, and served as a Harpur Fellow, where she integrated art and community service for a summer in Argentina. A native New Yorker, Tamar attended LaGuardia High School where she studied classical voice, leading to performances on Broadway with Patti LaBelle, at Carnegie Hall, and as the soprano soloist of Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts. Tamar is a published poet, and her work can be found on the Academy of American Poets website, New York’s Best Emerging Poets 2017, and in the forthcoming issue of the Paterson Literary Review.
